Financial Literacy Support for Women from QNET and TOÇEV

QNET and the Tuvana Foundation for the Education of Children Willing to Read (TOÇEV) have implemented an important cooperation to support and empower women entrepreneurs. Within the scope of the “FinGreen” project, financial literacy support will be provided to 200 women. The first two trainings were held in Istanbul in July.

In 2023, nearly 200 women received financial literacy training in the first FinGreen project. Global direct sales company QNET and Turkey’s leading non-governmental organization TOÇEV have signed a meaningful cooperation to empower women in the economic field and support women entrepreneurs. Within the scope of the project called FinGreen, financial literacy training will be provided to 200 women in different provinces.

The first two of the training programs, which were specially planned to overcome the obstacles that women entrepreneurs may face in the process of starting a business, to support them in adapting to challenging economic conditions, saving, budgeting, income-expenditure balance, etc., were held in Istanbul.

“We care about women’s economic freedom.”

Irmak Sütçü, Marketing and Communications Manager at QNET Turkiye, who mentioned the success of women entrepreneurs in financial literacy in the training, said: “We are happy to carry out the FinGreen project, which we regularly organize every year, with TOÇEV, one of Turkiye’s leading non-governmental organizations. In today’s world, unfortunately, women entrepreneurs still remain in the background. As QNET, it is a great source of pride for us to be able to support women entrepreneurs and contribute to their economic freedom. It is clear from our trainings that women entrepreneurs are eager to improve themselves and learn new information about financial literacy. Learning financial terms by relating them to their daily lives enables them to formulate their business strategies in a better way. It helps them make more informed and effective decisions in budget planning. They also gain the confidence they need to better evaluate investment opportunities and manage financial risks. We are determined to be their supporters on this path and to continue their empowerment.”

Commenting on the project, Dilek Ültanır, TOÇEV Executive Board Member, said, “As TOÇEV, we are proud to be a part of the FinGreen project, which aims to increase women’s economic freedom and entrepreneurship potential. With financial literacy trainings, we aim to help women overcome the obstacles they may face in their business start-up processes, adapt to challenging economic conditions, and raise awareness on issues such as savings, budgeting and income-expenditure balance. Thanks to this meaningful collaboration with QNET, we reach 200 women from different cities in Turkey and offer them financial literacy trainings. In our trainings held in Istanbul, we witnessed the enthusiasm of our women entrepreneurs to learn financial terms by relating them to their daily lives. These trainings help women make more informed and effective decisions in budget planning, learn about investment and better utilize their knowledge, and better manage their family economies. As TOÇEV, we will continue to support women in gaining their economic freedom and progressing towards establishing their own businesses. Our contributions to this project empower women and enable them to take stronger steps towards entrepreneurship. We are very happy to touch the lives of many women with the FinGreen project and support them on their path to economic independence.”

Safiye Acet, who participated in the FinGreen training, said, “In this training, I gained important information on how I can save money. I learned that environmental factors are also important when managing our budget. For example, I realized that we need to save money on household appliances and the water we use. It is really a great pleasure to spend your own earnings and as women, this makes us feel more free. I think it is very important for women to have financial freedom.” Necla Gümüş, another participant in the training, said, ”I gained awareness on issues such as savings and budgeting in the training. I will raise awareness of everyone in my family about budgeting.”
